Definitely trying to embrace this more these days! I’d rather measure my happiness and success based on a testament of my strength than on numbers on a scale or plastic tape. Those vanity numbers are counterproductive to earning any kind of success and happiness, and eventually what they measure isn’t a true account of what you’ve achieved or what you’re capable of. But putting in the miles, pushing yourself across roads, trails and paths, looking back at the ground that has passed beneath your feet - THAT is a true testament to your strength, ability and success.
I needed to see this today, and finally make a commitment to STOP relying on scales/measuring tapes to tell me how beautiful I am or how I measure up. I may not have a model’s body, but I can pump out some killer miles.
